# How to Connect FBS MT4 to Trader Journal

FBS is widely used in Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The broker offers multiple MT4 account types, all of which work with Trader Journal.

## FBS MT4 Server Names

- **FBS-Real** (most common)
- **FBS-Real2**, **FBS-Real3**
- **FBSPrime-Real** (FBS Prime accounts)
- **FBSEU-Real** (EU-regulated entity)

Check your server in MT4's bottom-right corner.

## Setup Process

### Install the EA

Download `TraderJournal.ex4` from Trader Journal app (Settings → Expert Advisor → MT4). Copy to MT4 Data Folder → MQL4 → Experts. Refresh Navigator.

### Allow WebRequests

Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequests for listed URLs → add `https://api.traderjournal.app`.

### Attach and Configure

Drag the EA to any chart. Enter your Trader Journal API key. Enable AutoTrading.

### Verify

Check Trader Journal app — your FBS account appears within 60 seconds.

## FBS Account Types

**Cent account:** FBS Cent accounts trade in cent lots. 1 cent lot = 0.01 standard lot. Trader Journal displays lot sizes in FBS notation. A 100 cent lot trade shows as 1.00 in Trader Journal (FBS standard).

**Micro account:** Micro lots. Standard journal tracking.

**Standard account:** Full lots. All data captured normally.

**Zero Spread account:** Commission-based. Trader Journal records commission separately per trade.

**ECN account:** ECN pricing with commission. Full commission tracking in journal.

**Crypto account:** FBS allows crypto deposits. The account currency is still USD or EUR for trading purposes, not the crypto asset itself.

## FBS Bonus Trading

FBS is known for aggressive bonus promotions (100% deposit bonus, no-deposit bonuses). These affect equity but not balance. Use the balance figure in Trader Journal for performance analysis to separate genuine trading profit from bonus credit.

## FBS MT5

FBS also supports MT5:

Install `TraderJournal.ex5` in MQL5 → Experts. Same connection process as MT5 on other brokers.

## Common Issues

**Account not appearing:** Verify your API key is current. Go to Trader Journal Settings → Copy API Key and re-enter it in the EA inputs dialog.

**Trade history gaps:** FBS sometimes archives old account history. If you notice missing trades from before a certain date, this is an FBS server behavior. Current and future trades will sync correctly from the moment the EA is attached.

**Cent account lot confusion:** If you see unusually small lot sizes, your account may be Cent type. This is normal — FBS Cent lot sizes are small by design.
