# How to Connect FXTM MT4 to Trader Journal

ForexTime (FXTM) is a CySEC, FCA, and FSC-regulated broker. It supports both MT4 and MT5. Here is how to connect your FXTM account to Trader Journal.

## FXTM MT4 Server Names

- **FXTM-Real** or **FXTM-Real01** (most common)
- **FXTM-UK-Real01** (UK FCA regulated clients)
- **ForexTime-Real** (older accounts)
- **ForexTime-Real01**

Check the MT4 terminal bottom-right for your active server.

## Full Setup

### Install EA

Download `TraderJournal.ex4` from Trader Journal Settings → Expert Advisor → MT4. Copy to MT4 Data Folder → MQL4 → Experts. Refresh.

### WebRequests

Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequests → `https://api.traderjournal.app`.

### Attach EA

Drag to chart. Enter API key. Enable AutoTrading.

### Verify

Account appears in Trader Journal within 60 seconds.

## FXTM Account Types

**Cent Standard and Cent ECN:** Cent accounts trade at 1/100th of standard lot sizes. Useful for small balances. Trader Journal shows lot sizes in FXTM's cent notation.

**Standard and ECN accounts:** Normal lot sizes. Commission on ECN accounts is captured per trade.

**Advantage Plus:** Zero spread account with commission. Full commission tracking in journal.

## FXTM Copy Trading

FXTM has a copy trading service (Mirror Trading). If you are a strategy provider, your own trades appear in MT4 history and sync to Trader Journal. If you are a copier, the positions entered on your behalf appear in your MT4 account history as regular trades and sync automatically.

## Troubleshooting

**FXTM stopped MT4 in some regions:** FXTM no longer offers MT4 to new clients in the UK and EU following regulatory changes. If you are in these regions and received an MT5 account instead, use the MT5 EA and `TraderJournal.ex5`.

**Server not in MT4 list:** Download the latest FXTM MT4 installer from the FXTM website. Updated installers include the latest server list.

**Commission showing doubled:** If you see commission appearing twice per trade, this may be a display issue where both entry and exit commission are shown separately. In Trader Journal, the net commission per round turn trade is correct.
