# London Session Trading Plan Template

The London session (07:00–16:00 UTC) is the most liquid forex session. Having a specific plan for it — not a generic trading plan — sharpens your execution.

## Pre-Session Preparation (30 minutes before open)

**1. Check overnight price action**
- What happened during Asian session?
- Did price break any key levels or sweep liquidity?
- Is there a defined Asian range (high and low)?

**2. Check today's news calendar**
- High-impact events during London hours today?
- If FOMC/ECB/BOE: plan to step aside 30 minutes before release
- Note: NFP, CPI, rate decisions can invalidate your London plan

**3. Mark your key levels**
For each pair on your watchlist:
- Previous day high (PDH) and previous day low (PDL)
- Asian session high and low
- Key HTF order blocks or FVGs
- Your bias: Bullish / Bearish / Wait for structure

**4. Define your London focus pairs** (2–3 maximum)
Recommended: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, GBP/JPY, EUR/GBP for London open.

## Session Risk Limits

Define before the session starts:

- Max daily loss: [amount or % of account]
- Max trades: [number — suggest 3–5]
- Max open at once: [usually 1–2]
- Stop trading rule: "If I hit [X] loss, I close MT4 for the day"

Write these in your pre-trade plan in Trader Journal before your first trade.

## During the Session

### The London Open (07:00–09:00 UTC)
This is typically the highest volatility window. London traders react to overnight positions and Asian session activity. A common pattern: sweep of Asian session highs or lows in the first 30–60 minutes.

Do not enter immediately at 07:00. Wait for the first swing to develop, identify the liquidity that got swept, then look for your setup.

### Mid-Session (09:00–12:00 UTC)
Trends established in the open either continue or reverse here. More methodical. Good for higher timeframe setups.

### US Overlap (12:00–16:00 UTC)
Volume picks up again as New York opens. Can reactivate setups that were stalling.

## Post-Session Review (15 minutes after close)

Answer:
- Did I follow my plan?
- Were trades taken only on my watchlist pairs?
- Were daily loss limits respected?
- What happened to the setups I identified but did not trade?

Log answers as a note in Trader Journal.

## Summary

A London session plan is not a prediction — it is a framework that keeps you focused on quality setups during the session's best hours and prevents reactive, low-quality trades.
